Dear Parents/Carers,
Flexible Dining
Beginning next term we will trial a new dinner system which gives children the option of bringing a packed lunch or having a school meal on selected days. They will need to state,on Monday mornings, which day(s) of the week they would like a school meal and these must be paid for on the Monday morning. The cost of dinners remains at £1.85 a day. For those parents who prefer to pay for the term in advance the cost will be £70.30.
School Council News
This week RAM F.M. came into school to interview some members of the School Council who took part in the Junior Speed Watch. It was an exciting experience and was aired this morning with the main news bulletin.
This is the end of our year as school councillors and we have been very busy all year with lots of different projects. We have raised enough money to begin first aid training for all the children in school. This will be completed next year and thanks to everyone’s support we have been able to present to the school £250.00 to be used to buy equipment.
Craft Club
Mrs.Cross and Meg would like to say thank you to all the children who attended Craft Club. We hope that you enjoyed it. Meg has now completed her Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award. Craft Club has now finished.
Leavers
Today we say farewell to our Year 6 children. They have been a credit to themselves, their families and the school. We look forward to hearing great things about them as they move through their years at secondary school. Many thanks to all the parents, who have supported their children and the school over the years. We hope that you will come and see us when we have events in the future.
We would also like to thank Mrs.Glasson for the fantastic job she has done here during the summer term. We do hope to see her in September before she begins her maternity leave. Best wishes Mrs.Glasson from everyone at Ashbrook Juniors.
Finally, thank you to everyone involved in school for the successful and rewarding year we have had.
School will close today for the summer holiday and re-open on Tuesday September 7th. We hope everyone has a good summer break.
